Tennessee EDM DJ, Bassnectar, whose real name is Lorin Ashton, has been sued by Rachel Ramsbottom and Alexis Bowling for engaging in statutory rape, acquiring naked photographs of the girls, and utilizing his network of industry companies and businesses to engage and entice underage girls to participate. Ramsbottom and Bowling, two of nine women who have now come forward, filed a lawsuit against the DJ in hopes of holding him truly accountable for his actions. Though Bassnectar claims the rumors are untrue, he did apologize for any pain he “may have caused,” and “stepped back” from the music scene and touring in summer of 2020. Rumors ran rampant on the internet but were solidified by the Instagram page @evidenceofBassnectar where victims posted their stories and compared experiences. Other entities listed in the lawsuit include Amorphous Music, Bassnectar Touring Inc., Redlight Management Inc., C3 Presents LLC, and the Interactive Giving Fund.
